    If you require delivery to a rural area, please contact us for a quote for delivery and installation costs.
  • Installation of Lift-off models by customer
    If you intend to install a lift-off model, please be aware of the following
    The lift-off model will be delivered in a large timber crate and you will require a forklift to unload
    You will require a forklift or crane to lift the service body onto the vehicle tray.
    If you have purchased any electrical options, you will require an auto electrician to wire the service body to the vehicle. (Auto electrician costs are borne by the customer when self installing)
  • Installation period
    Lift-off models: Normally we require between four hours to a full day, depending on options
    Fixed models: Between 1 and 2 days, depending on options

Refitting your existing Service Body

Refitting Ridgeback Service Bodies are designed and manufactured to last many years. As such many customers remove the service body and re-install it onto a new vehicle.

  • Fixed Service Bodies
    Ridgeback Fixed Models have been designed with a universal mounting system - this means that the fixed body can be re-installed  on a similar vehicle providing it is the same cab/chassis configuration.
  • Lift-off Bodies
    The only prerequisite is that the new vehicle is the same vehicle configuration

Fixed Service Bodies

For example a 1800 Series Body for a Dual cab vehicle will only fit on a new Dual cab vehicle.

Please note: Very often vehicle manufacturers change wheel base lengths and chassis rail dimensions on new series models. In the event that there has been considerable change then we may need to manufacture certain new components like wheel arch valances and chassis mounting brackets.

Lift-off Bodies

For example a 1800 Series Body for a Dual cab vehicle will only fit on a new Dual cab vehicle. The important part is the tray size.

Please note: You can install a 1800 or 2100 series lift-off model onto a 2400 tray ( Single cab). 1800 series will also fit onto a 2100 tray

Size does matter! We are often asked to assist with the selection of a new service body and recommend the best size to suit our customers' needs:

- Single cab vehicles: Any 2400 series service body
- Space cab vehicles: Any 2100 series service body
- Dual cab vehicles: Any 1800 series service body

When it comes to choosing a service body for your UTE, you can trust Ridgeback's high quality manufacturing and reputation to ensure the best possibly body for your trade needs.

Size does matter! We are often asked to assist with selection of a new body, and to recommend which size is best suited to our customer's needs.

So, there are two main points to consider when deciding what size service body will best fit with your unique needs:

  • Your service body choice will depend upon what vehicle you own or intend to purchase. This will determine the structural size and dimensions.

OR... if you want to start by purchasing the most suitable service body and then choose the appropriate trade vehicle, then your work operational requirements will be the determining factor.

  • Example 1: You intend to purchase or already own a Toyota Hilux Dual Cab UTE. This vehicle size means you can only fit a 1800 series body.

  • Example 2: You need maximum storage space for your tools and equipment. The best solution is a 2400 series service body, which requires a Single Cab UTE. The make and model is not important.

- Single cab vehicles: Any 2400 series service body
- Space cab vehicles: Any 2100 series service body
- Dual cab vehicles: Any 1800 series service body

We have Ridgeback bodies on display at our Melbourne and Brisbane locations. We can also arrange for you to meet up with one of our customers to veiw

All Ridgeback bodies are made from high grade Aluminium. The base frames and certain compenents are made from mild steel.

Typically we build to your order which takes between 6 to 8 weeks.

Yes, we do carry the TM 1800 TradieMaster Lift off model in stock

Each model has been carefully designed for each major trade - however you can choose any model if you believe it suits your working environment and requirements
